April Fool’s Day for most is a day of pranks and jokes, but for Jerry Anglin, it was on that day in 1976 that he started his bail business in Texas. Jerry had an exceptional reputation in his town as a real estate broker and pawn store owner, which was the reason the local sheriff contacted him to get involved in the bail industry. At the time of his start, Jerry had only one competitor, but 36 years of being in business has shown many other company’s doors open and close. Every day in the bail bond industry is exciting and enjoyable for Jerry. Although life has proven to be difficult at times, Jerry has pushed through and does not cease to carry a positive attitude throughout life.
Jerry’s concern does not stop with the people he bails out at the local county jail. In fact, he makes sure each individual has had a full meal before leaving his company. In addition to feeding those he bails out, he does everything he can to get them the true help they need. If a person he has bailed out has an addiction problem and are seeking help, Jerry will send them to a Christian based rehab facility in California where they can receive the help necessary to get their lives back on track. Those Jerry has helped return to visit him often to thank him for his sincere kindness and their second chance at life.
When Jerry isn’t busy in his Texas office, he and his wife of 40 years, Millie, travel across the country in their RV and visit their four children and nine grandchildren. The only states they haven’t been to are Hawaii and Alaska. Perhaps, they’re next on the list.
